Chest infection: The term "chest infection" has little medical meaning because it does not characterize the area of the chest involved. If this is pneumonia (infection of lung tissue) and you are having "burning" and a cough would strongly suggest you go back and be re-examined and be sure that you are not becoming worse. And stop smoking.
