Yes: Sure if a bone spur presses on a nerve it can be shaved away to release the nerve.

Stenosis: Bone spurs are caused by the degenerative process and can cause pinched nerves or narrowing of the spine.They can be removed but sometimes a spinal fusion may have to be also done to prevent them from coming back.
