A member asked:

Can prednisone help with inflammation for any type of inflammation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and no: Prednisone technically helps with all inflammation and decreases inflammatory reaction. Does it help all? No. If you try to give Prednisone to people with GI inflammation other than what we call inflammatory bowel disease it does not help. For example, gastritis, wherein the lining is inflamed and eroded, it will decrease the repairing by the inflammatory cells and worsen it. It's immunosuppressiv.
