Anti-inflammatory: Prednisone is an anti-inflammatory. It does not correct the original cause but does allow the area to have time to heal perhaps. The side effects can be very problematic, so it is for short term use but for some, that's enough. Discuss your situation with your doctor to understand the expected effects. Best!
