A member asked:

Prednisone 3wks ago for bronchitis; then needed it for a few days for inflammation of my gums (no infecn.) i now may need again for bronchitis. safe?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Under supervision: Prednisone must be used under physician's or dentist's supervision. If practitioner has reviewed your full health history and then prescribed the steroid, it is "safe" within the parameters of appropriate use of the medication. Note also that gum inflammation is usually caused by bacterial infection. Please see your Dentist about your gum disease
