Does bupropion increase the effects of ritalin (methylphenidate)?

It depends....: It really depends on why you are taking the medication and in what way you mean "increase the effects". Both are approved for adhd and so in that way they are both helpful together. If you are referring to side effects, there is some overlap and so that too could be possible. I would consult with your physician.

Wellbutrin (bupropion) ; Ritalin: Not exactly, but together they may work cooperatively to give you a better response in either depression or adhd, but the risk of seizures goes up slightly. Best wishes.

Interaction risk: There is a potential interaction as both affect dopamine. One possible side effect of bupropion is seizure, and the risk may increase in combination with ritalin (methylphenidate). However, not everyone has this side effect and many experience benefit from using both. Mood difficulties are common with adhd and should be treated. When starting/adding medication it is best to go slow and note any changes or symptoms.
