Interesting: If you feel your dose should be increased, then why would you want to stop it? It should be fine skipping a day. The worst i can think of is that you may have a very challenging day but there are no risks to skipping a day or two. Many patients do not take meds on the weekend or during school breaks....And do fine.

Ritalin (methylphenidate) for ADHD may: Be effective for 3-4 hours and then be residual for another 3-4 hours. Skipping a dose is not harmful but adhd symptoms will return and may interfere with function. Some individuals may experience agitation, change in heart rate, sadness, tired, nausea after stopping ritalin (methylphenidate). Dose increase is determined by discussing symptoms and medication effects with prescriber. Best regards.
