Stimulants: Ritalin, (methylphenidate) or any other stimulant, can increase libido by reducing depression and increasing the neuroadrenergic tenor. In persons suffering of adhd may have a calming effect but in the others may increase the metabolic rate, which leads to abuse of these substances at times. Libido depends on too many factors to describe here. Stimulants have an antidepressant effect particularly if medically ill.
