Fad diet...: Hcg is a fad diet of unproven safety. Most diets of any kind will help you lose weight but due to an imbalance of macronutrients you end up losing valuable muscle along with fat. This sets you up for regaining the weight after the diet is "over". A better approach would be to develop healthy habits i.e. Eat whole (unprocessed) foods, small portion sizes, and get more active. Good luck!

Not wise because...: The HCG diet is extreme. Those who lose weight fast tend to regain fast. The key to losing weight is not a temporary diet but permanent changes.Sugars ; simple carbs cause weight gain; also avoid fried foods. I like dr. Furhman's diet: http://bit.Ly/1dhw9ht dr. Weil has useful info: http://huff.To/19ygs8y- see his "discuss that" link in his article. Exercise is important! see http://bit.Ly/19xax7.
