No: Colds are caused by viruses. Colds have no cure and are self limiting. Aim is to make the infant / child comfortable. Febrex plus syrup has paracetamol(safe) an antihistamine called chlorpheniramine( not safe) and an oral nasal decongestant phenylephrine(not safe). This combination shd be avoided in infants and children. Can cause dryness, sedation, irritability at times and high BP.

No: The pharmaceutical industry is not in accord with the American Academy of Pediatrics. The only thing to help an infant with a cold is a bulb syringe and nasal saline to help clear the airway passages. You should get a primary care physician to follow your infant for continuity of care.
