A member asked:

When i go to bed, i turn to sleep on my stomach i get horrible cramps in the rib cage area, i breathe through it and it goes away. what is this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

? intercostal nerve: It's possible that a pinching of the nerve running between the ribs occurs with position change. Typically it causes very sharp shooting pain in the rib cage and may worsen with a deep breath. Otherwise i would suspect some sort of muscle spasm that occurs with position change. Have your md check you if your symptoms persist or worsen.
