A member asked:

For a month now ive had this anxiety hyperfixation on my breathing. it makes me aware of my breathing, feel faint, breathe irregularly, and the area below my rib cage/by my stomach spasms or gasps. could this be more than a psychological issue?

Unlikely: It is unlikely that this is due to something other than anxiety. I would encourage you to seek treatment for your anxiety disorder through therapy and, possibly medication. Cognitive behavioral therapy is considered one of the best routes for treating anxiety. Good luck!
