Usually: Sorry for your diagnosis. Not all 2.5cm nodules are the same. Some may have a lower density and be obscured by overlying structures like bones or even old rib fractures. Obese patients can be much more difficult to image optimally. In the main however, the great majority of 2.5cm nodules would be expected to be identified.

Usually: The smallest lesion on chest radiograph that can be detected is about 5 to 8 mm. A lot depends on its location, peripheral or central. 2.5 cm lesions are easily visualized.
