Could an ent do an ultrasound on the thyroid?

Dr. Eric Stein answered

Specializes in Interventional Radiology

Usually in Radiology: Most thyroid ultrasound studies are done by certified ultrasound technologists in a radiology department either in the hospital or an outpatient facility. An ENT with an up-to-date ultrasound machine and a qualified technologist could perform the scan.
