A member asked:

My ear has been feeling like there's liquid stuck. the side of my neck hurts and under the chin but the ent said she feels nothing. what could it be? could it be ear drainage issues? and would an ultrasound on the neck detect that?

Ultrasound: The ear symptom may be referred from a possible low grade neck inflammatory process involving thyroid, carotid artery, lymph glands, or salivary glands. Was there any tenderness during the neck exam? Was any blood work done? I agree with the advisability of having a neck ultrasound and blood work like cbc &differential, monotest, thyroid tests,ANA. A 2nd ENT opinion may be obtained
