See your dentist: It is very common for pregnant women to experience pregnancy gingivitis. Due to changes in your hormones while pregnant, the risk of gum disease is increased. Usually, the OB / gyn emphasizes this risk and recommends that pregnant women get regular hygiene maintenance from their dentist.

Periodontal disease : While pregnancy will not cause periodontal disease the change in hormones will exacerbate any hidden existing conditions. See you general dentist asap and ask them for a referral to a periodontist. With proper care this problem can be resolved. If you ignore it you could loose your teeth.

Periodontitis: Women have many changes during pregnancy, with the change in hormones causing the gums to swell, bleed, and making them harder to clean. Also, morning sickness acidity can create havoc with the teeth. When the baby is born, the mother often neglects her own dental health to focus more on the new infant. Get to a dentist asap and get a thorough checkup and cleaning. Need to save your teeth!

Pregnancy: When pregnant you are more susceptible to gum inflammation (pregnancy hyperplasia) from the hormone changes so oral hygiene is even more important. See your dentist for a check up and cleaning.
