Slim Chance: If the tooth was fractured you would have constant pain. The trauma has inflamed the nerve, that's why it's sensitive. It would be best to see a local dentist to have a radiograph taken to establish a baseline. It is very possible the tooth will need root canal therapy.

OK: Happens more often than you would imagine. Should be OK. Avoid anything too cold or especially too hot (tea). Avoid biting into anything at all for about a week. Cut it up instead. Depending upon the injury,tooth may darken. Reportnthe incident to our Dentist. Ask if he/she wants to see your to do a b baseline examination/x-ray.
