Does ra shows on mri even if there isn't any joint destruction?

Maybe.: The best test for RA is a good clinical exam, history over time and lab testing. X-rays can rule in another disease such as gout, psoriatic arthritis, etc. Mri can show subtle changes of RA or even other diseases before there is obvious joint destruction on x-ray.
