What point should i consider surgery for diverticulitis, 2 flare ups in a month. (had diverticulosis for years) last scope was nov. 13.

Depends: Discuss with your doc. Surgery is always last resort. Dietary changes to decrease constipation. Or meds too can help.Other lifestyle options may be helpful. Probiotic supplementation would not hurt. They could at least help replace your bacterial flora from the antibiotics you have taken.

Discuss with surgeon: Surgery should be a last resort but this is something to discuss with your gastroenterologist and/or surgeon. You should weigh the benefits of having surgery vs the risks, complications of such a surgery.
