Gastroenteritis: Start by giving him electrolyte containing fluid to avoid dehydration. Keep him on a bland diet, nothing greasy of fried. Stop milk, milk products and juice give bananas, rice cereal, apple sause. Etc.

Frequent small sips: Of clear liquids such as pedialyte, as little as 5 -10 ml , every 10 minutes, may be tried. If tolerated well for at least an hour, gradual increase of pedialyte followed by introduction of light foods such as cereal or cracker will be the next step. If this measure fails, see his primary care provider.
