A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tenesmus: Definition of "tenesmus" = ineffectual ; painful straining at stool. Rectal dysfunctional, ;for that matter constipation in general, can reflect a variety of problems that should be systemically evaluated ; treated. Anorectal manometry, defecography, ; rectal ultrasound +/- biopsies to rule out hirschprung's should be considered. Ibs is a diagnosis best made only after excluding all other causes.
