Stop worrying: You can walk off a cliff, or walk out in bad weather and get sick or struck by lightning. If you've got a bone problem, trying to walk might result in injury. But walking is utterly basic to being human, and it's basic exercise and preferable to riding short distances. There are crooks out there profiting by trying to frighten you about anything and everything. Just ignore them.

Good exercise: Walking is a good exercise and will not do harm per se. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
