Bad healthocd, but scared of docs/bad news. im thin, walk 6mi 7x/week, decent diet. no previous health problems but lots in family (they are also morbid obese, sedentary). i feel doomed to same fate - miserable. how to not be scared? i take buspar?

You should have an evaluation to determine if you do have OCD &/or other diagnoses such as depression. It would be good to see your PCP for a history and physical. The best treatments for OCD are cognitive-behavior therapy, ERP (which is exposure therapy in which you become gradually desensitized to stimuli that provoke anxiety) and meds: SSRIs and Anafranil. Buspar is not that helpful for OCD.

Agree with Dr Cho, as would urge, in spite of fear, address all of this directly. See a psychologist who is skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy, but also consider biofeedback. Learn and practice meditation. You can cope and your future is in your hands. And as mentioned, have your diagnosis fully clarified.
