Toothache: I'm sorry to hear that and suggest you discuss this with the dentist who removed your tooth. Have you tried taking otc pain medication such as advil, motrin, aleve (naproxen) or what you would normally take for a headache? You might have a dry socket. Call the office for advice.

Call your surgeon: For moderate pain, Motrin and Tylenol (acetaminophen) are recommended. For severe pain the prescribed medication (Vicodin) is indicated for short term pain control. Don't try to tough it out and call your surgeon today.
