Why would teeth feel big when bite down had a very bad toothache the other day no swelling went dr they put me on augmentin,this big feeling has me worried,would a cavity without infection cause severe tooth pain?

If your dentist put you on Augmentin, you have an infection, otherwise no need for antibiotics. A carious lesion without an infection can certainly cause a severe toothache. Your tooth feels "big" since the pressure of the infection is pushing on the tooth.

A cavity is an infection. if teeth feel big it may be a the beginning of an advanced cavity infection known as an abscess. Pain is caused by inflammation, an offshoot of infected tissues. Antibiotics will slow spread of infection for only as long as you take them., Stop and infection comes roaring back. Can't fix dental infection with a pill. You require hands-on dental treatment.
