A member asked:

Can someone know of the 8th nerve operation due to permanent vertigo?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Other ideas: It is extremely unusual to have permanent vertigo. The only disease I know that produces vertigo that lasts for hours is Meniere's disease. Although vestibular nerve section on the effected side may cure you, I prefer to chemically ablate the vestibular system with Gentamycin. It is easy, successful and much less risky than cutting the vestibular nerve in the internal auditory meatus.
