I have a cataract in my right eye and he told me i need a cataract surgery. is this procedure scary?

No: It is unusual to get a cataract at such a young age although not impossible. I would recommend getting a second opinion. The surgery itself is usually successful but having it at a young age will cause the loss of the ability to focus the eye which is called accommodation. Premium implants can offer near vision but are not perfected and will not compare to your ability to see near as before.

Cataract surgery: CS: The lens: usually clear, behind iris & like a "pillow in a pillowcase". As we age, lens gets cloudy/white & can affect VA. If significant or causing narrow angles, surgery may be indicated. Cataract is # 1 cause of preventable blindness in world. Cataract surgery is the most common surgery performed in world & US. Complication risk very low; best time in history to have CS: eyedoc2020.blogspot.com
