A member asked:

Good afternoon doctors. my friend has ebmd and had a second cataract surgery two weeks after the first cataract surgery. vision in the first eye is still blurry. he also experienced pain during the cataract procedure. is this unusual?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I'm not an opthalmologist but I will say that pain during cataract surgery is unusual but blurry vision for a few weeks is not. I've had numerous patients who underwent lens implants and I have had 2 myself. Each eye of mine took weeks for real clear vision to appear. My 2 operations were 8 weeks apart. Your friend should voice his concerns to his eye surgeon.
