Colon related: The descending part of colon is i think the most common source of left sided abdominal pain without some more apparent etiology. I'm surprised the initial test was an ultrasound so perhaps there is something more about the history or exam you didn't mention. In any event ultrasounds rarely reveal colon problems and even problems like irritable bowel don't show up with routine dx. Tests.
