Can i eat wholemeal bread with a past history of gout?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If under treatment : If you have gout and are under treatment for your disease you should be fine. With this disease the key is to control your uric acid with diet and medication. Your main job is to avoid excess. Large amounts of shellfish, red meat or high purine foods can overcome medication. Alcohol will overwhelm most treatments. If you have normal kidney/liver and take meds most foods in moderation are ok.
