A member asked:

Could an mri show myelopathy on it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, in many cases: Myelopathy is a term for spinal cord disease. If the myelopathy is caused by mechanical compression, this is almost always visible on mri. Mri can also sometimes see myelopathy caused by inflammation or other metabolic problems. This being said, MRI is only one part of a full evaluation for a patient with a myelopathy.
