A member asked:

Do you know are physicians more reluctant to complete a lenthy operation on an obese person than one who is not?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

With caution: There is no question the obese will have more difficult procedures with a higher risk of post operative infections, wound dehiscence and other complications. But if the operation is needed, surgeons will do the procedure if the risk of doing nothing is higher.
