No: Orthopedics and orthopedic surgery is the same thing. A pa can specialize in orthopedic surgery. Orthopedics is just a shorter term for orthopedic surgery.

Same degree: A physician assisant degree in orthopedics is the same as orthopedic surgery. The training covers all the same information.

PA in Ortho: Usually additional training for physician assistants include multiple disciplines. Orthopedics and orthopedic surgery imply the same unless the program only offers nonsurgical clinic based training in orthopedic medicine.

No: A pa degree is a graduate degree. After training they take an exam, and if they pass they are considered to be "certified", designated as "pa-c". After that they can become specialty certified in an area like orthopedics or orthopedic surgery (same thing). There is another type of degree called an opa (orthopedic physician assistant). This is not a graduate degree and is more limited in scope.
