Technically yes...: ... Excess pressure in a specific direction may crush blood vessels at the apex of the tooth, disrupting blood flow to the nerve in that tooth. If so, the nerve will become necrotic and the tooth would require root canal therapy. I have never heard of or seen this, but i guess it is possible if enough pressure is placed.
