Thyroid and aging: The risk of hypothyroidism increases with age. There is no way to know who will get it but family history of thyroid disease is one strong indicator. If you suspect you have hypothyroidism, see your doctor for a blood test. Hypothyroidism symptoms are non-specific and could be caused by many other things beside thyroid.
