It depends: There are a few reasons for hypothyrodism. If it was due to a viral infection (thyroiditis) which means the thyroid gland gets inflamed, the function goes initially up, then down, then normal, then yes, usually after 2-3 months it resolves. If your thyroid function is normal on the blood test and you feel normal (no fatigue, lethargy, weight loss/gain, hair loss/gain, dry skin), then you're ok.
