Yes: Along side of pain relief medication that contain Codeine or other opioids can cause sedation, dizziness, mental cloudiness. Obviously if these side effects are bothering you enough, i would sicuss other options with your doctor.

Side effects: I don't think it's normal, yet you might experience side effect of the drug, most likely codeine, if you never had it before.
