Blast from the past: I haven't heard the term tree hole disease in a while. You are most probably referring to the encephalitis spread by the tree hole mosquito. This disease is the la crossevirus, a cause of california encephalitis. It causes very impressive encephalitis in children which can present like poliomyelitis but usually resolves without residuae. Headaches 30 years later are not due to this.
