No and Possibly: A prostate biopsy is the most definitive way to distinguish BPH from cancer of the prostate. BPH doesn't "turn into cancer" but cancer can develop alongside bph.

See answer: Though prostate ultrasound may show prostate cancer (pca) if present, it's not or should not be used as a screening test for pca (as compared to dre and psa) because of the high rate of falsely positive and falsely negative findings. It is primarily used to determine prostate size and guide prostate biopsy (the definiive diagnostic test for pca). BPH often coexists with but does not turn into pca.
