Yes: It can be very uncomfortable. Emg's are always uncomfortable, and the more nerve endings in the area the EMG is being performed, the more painful it tends to be. However, remember, the EMG is going to help with the diagnosis and treatment plan and the pain is very short lived. I wish you the best of luck and hope this helps.
