Possible: Tmj can effect he temporal muscle and causes it be become tight /contracted. As you may know, tight muscle can cause pain. Have you seen a doctor for your problem, you may get help. If its still persist then you want to see an ophthalmologist.

Can be but...: An ailment that may create symptoms like you describe can be TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA. I am not saying it is TG, and it could be a symptom of TMJ/TMD, but I would be checked soon.

Probably: Probably. Make sure your TMJ problem being treated by TMJ expert. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
