Fever: Give him Motrin and or tylenol (acetaminophen). Is the child teething? If the fever does not come down with the Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen) a tepid bath works very nicely. Put the child in the bath into luke warm water. Run the water with cold water and the temperature will come down nicely and gradually so the child does not cry or get upset. Good luck. Feel better.

Manage the fever: During cold and flu season it is not uncommon for infants to have their first cold which could cause fever for several days. If your infant is able to take an antipyretic medication like Ibuprofen or acetaminophen, this is reasonable if the infant is uncomfortable. Keep your infant hydrated and use humidification to help with the cough. Cold medications are not appropriate for infants.
