Resolution of: Numbness after hand surgery such as carpal tunnel release is dependent upon many factors but the primary issue is what the nerve was like before the surgery. The more severe the preoperative symptoms, the more severe the nerve compression as shown on nerve studies and EMG and the more time that the severe compression has been there all limit recovery.
