Hand Numb: Would need to know a lot more details. Generally speaking there may have been some damage to the sensory nerves on the back of the hand. How exactly? Hard to say in this forum. Best to speak with your surgeon.

Not unusual: If you had implant surgery for your wrist, they probably made the incision on the back of your wrist. There are small nerves that cross the area and must be pulled aside or even cut in order to do the surgery. Most often this either gets better over the course of time, or you get used to it. This isn't an area where lack of sensation makes a difference in function. Most are not bothered by it.
