NO WASTE OF MONEY: Chia seeds are sold as a weight loss supplement with claim that it curbs the appetite but there is no evidence that it does so, a study done at appalachian university in north carolina did not see any appetite reduction or weight loss over 12 weeks trial.

They are a healthy: Food source but studies show no effectiveness as a weight loss supplement. Chia are seeds from salvia hispanca which grows in the desert. They can be a healthy snack as they contain omega-3 fatty acids, calcium, fiber, protein ; antioxidants. Of two studies on the effect of chia on weight loss – neither study showed weight loss effects.
