Time and space: Multiple sclerosis requires multiple lesions over time and locations. The fact that the lesion has shrunk is a good sign. I recommend you have a spinal tap to assist in diagnosis.

Suggest: Get a second opinion if you have any reservations about your doctor's diagnosis. If you have but one lesion which is changing size, need to focus on cause. Yes, this might NOT be MS, but not sure I can be definitive based on your information.
