Venous ulcer: Part of the healing process is rest and elevation of limb is also helpful.

It all depends: A condition of mild cellulitis and edema that is being followed by a physician is usually not a problem in continuing your daily activities. A more sever condition or infection must be looked at frequently and be evaluated on a week to week basis. Your doctor should be able to give you advice concerning a return to work or other daily activities.

I don't think so...: What kind of work do you do. More importantly, are you on your feet a lot while working. Elevation and rest are the necessarily ingredients foe a successful heal. Without knowing the complete history and wound circumstances makes it difficult, but I am against any activity that slows the healing and puts the patient in jeopardy.

Venous ulcer.: If the ulcer is infected then you would need antibiotics, cleaning of the wound and topical wound care. All of this will not prevent you from working. However, if the infection is more severe then you may require leg elevation and more frequent dressing changes. I would recommend that you discuss working with your treating physicians to see if you can safely return to work.
