A member asked:

Can i be infected with herpes virus without having any sores or ulcers ? how likely is it for herpes virus to show symptoms 2 days post exposure ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: You may have tiny lesions or viral shedding without any lesions. This is more common in women than in men. It usually takes more than 2 days after exposure to develop symptoms. The average incubation period after exposure is 4 days. ( range 2 - 12 days ).
