Needs treatment: Your child either has waxy discharge or an ear infection. If there is a hole in the eardrum from a middle ear infection, then discharge will occur. If the ear drum is intact, than it is mostly likely a swimmers ear, aka otitis externa. If it is an infection, than the standard treatment is antibiotic ear drops. See your pediatrician.
