Don't know: Not sure what your dentist is planning for the final restoration... Each tooth is different, so there is no one answer for everyone. Ask your dentist.

Ask dentist: That is a question you need to ask the dentist. I prefer a composite resin because it physically bonds to the surfaces of the tooth and gives it more strength than the silver amalgam fillings do.

Composite or crown: For small cavities in front teeth, your dentist may place a tooth-colored filling after a root canal. Usually, though, your tooth will need a crown.
